The Warren Street Festival was held at the Farmer's Market in downtown Rocky Mount on Aug. 15 & 16.
The Warren Street Festival was held in Rocky Mount at the Farmer's Market on Friday, August 15th and Saturday August 16th 2008. Franklin County Fun Magazine was on site on Friday evening at the launch of this event. Whether it was due to the downturn in the economy or the yellow tape surrounding the entire venue, no one knows for sure, the turnout this year was noticeably lower on Friday night than in previous years. The lower attendance was definitely not due to the quality of the event. Ms. Swain and all of the volunteers pulled together musical groups that have been well received in years past.
Welcomed changes were the use of a riser platform for the bands and reorientation of the band's positioning on stage. In previous years, it was difficult to see the shows due to no riser being used and the orientation of the bands had them facing away from the main parking lot that allowed for a larger audience.
