Local bands set to hold a concert celebrating the life and passions of Carrie Leigh Spencer.
On February 5th this year, Carrie Leigh Spencer lost her life in an automobile accident. For the youth and young adults in the community, the news of this tragic event hit particularly hard. Carrie was loved by all who knew her and her untimely death leaves an enormous void in all of their hearts.
Carrie had many passions, but the ones she cared most for were the love of music, and the humane treatment of animals. Chance Taylor, Carrie’s long time boyfriend is a member of Define Infinity and a former member of NEMA and Don't Die On Purpose. All the members of these bands were friends and acquaintances of Carrie and wanted to get together to celebrate Carrie's life by putting together a concert in her honor.
The concert will take place at the Franklin County High school auditorium on Friday March 28, 2008 and will begin at 6:00 P.M... Carrie was a supporter of PETA, and cared deeply about the welfare and treatment of animals. All proceeds from ticket sales and raffles will be donated to the Franklin County Planned Pethood clinic in Carrie's name.
Planned Pethood is a low cost, spay and neuter clinic, located at 18401 Virgil Goode Highway (Highway 220) just north of Rocky Mount, VA. Their mission is to stop the needless destruction of healthy dogs and cats at pounds by preventing pet overpopulation.
